Senator Rieger requested that the reconsideration on CS FOR                    
SENATE BILL NO. 80(FIN) "An Act relating to police protection                  
service areas in certain unified municipalities; and to police                 
protection provided by the state in certain municipal areas" be taken          
up.                                                                            
                                                                               
CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 80(FIN) was before the Senate on                        
reconsideration.                                                               
                                                                               
Senator Hoffman moved the following Letter of Intent:

                                     for                                      
                       CS for SENATE BILL NO. 80 (FIN)                        
                                                                               
It is the intent of the Legislature that passage of                           
this bill will not reduce rural trooper coverage.                              
                                                                               
Senator Kelly objected.                                                        
                                                                               
Senator Donley moved the following amendment to the Letter of                  
Intent:                                                                        
                                                                               
Delete:  "rural"                                                              
                                                                               
There being no objection, the amendment to the Letter of Intent was            
adopted.                                                                       
                                                                               
Senator Kelly withdrew his objection.                                          
                                                                               
There being no further objections, the Letter of Intent as amended
